Issue Alert > Education a Chamber priority in short session
Dear First Name,
For years, the North Carolina Chamber has been working to move forward education priorities to position North Carolina as the leading state in talent development. The Chamber’s Education Committee created an Education Vision that reshapes the dialogue around this issue and focuses on strategies and recommendations to strengthen our state’s education system, while recognizing North Carolina’s economic realities. The NC Chamber Education Vision is a thoughtful, strategic and deliberate long-term plan that meets today’s demands without compromising the future. Education and talent development and retention are the key to our state’s future, our children’s futures and economic growth. Read the NC Chamber’s education priorities for 2012 which focus on public-private collaboration, vocational curriculum, best practices and more.
NC Senate Leader Phil Berger (R-Rockingham) recently spoke at the NC Chamber board meeting and emphasized the importance of education. State legislative leadership is also committed to finding long-term solutions, as opposed to a temporary fix, to our education system. After many months of deliberation and work around our Education Vision, the NC Chamber anticipates significant progress on these initiatives in the coming weeks and during the 2012 legislative session.
We will continue to keep you informed on the development of the recommendations and strategies of the NC Chamber Education Vision. For more information on our Education Vision, please contact John Goodman, director of governmental affairs, at email@example.com or 919-836-1402.
